Brains of an Owl

All right Article Meltdown fans I have a new story series for you all. It is called: Brains of an Owl!!!
It is a couple of chapters long so here it is:

Chapter 1
The Long Night
“Hello and welcome to the game show called “What Is Up” Where the object of the game is to figure out what is up. Joining us on this dark stormy night is Angela the owl. So Angela, what are the white puffy things in the sky?” the Game Show host asked.

Angela replied, “Clouds, I am not that stupid.”

“Well um yeah good job, you just won 2,000 dollars.”

“Thank you, but I am an owl and I do not want money. I want a scholarship to an owl college that is why I am here.” Angela said.

“But we do not give away scholarships to owl colleges,” he muttered, “or any college for that matter.”

“Well than I am leaving,” Angela sighed. Then she walked off the set.

“Well then” the host said awkwardly, “that’s it for What is Up.”

Meanwhile, Angela was flying high over the sky “Pshaw” she muttered, “What was I thinking.”

When Angela got back to her burrow, she was thinking about all the good colleges that might want an owl to reflect their school name. Outside lightning crashed and thunder roared against the edges of the sky. She decided she might try again on another game show. She put some coffee grounds in the coffeepot. For a twenty-year old owl like her, she had the essentials of life. She had a new coffeepot, a nice stove, an enormous microwave and a modern table. All from all the game shows she had played. None of them gave her what she wanted. She did not want material goods, she wanted a scholarship.

None of the game show hosts was nice about it. They all gave her snide remarks when she stated what she wanted. They all gave her the same answer: no. It was getting old. There were plenty of owl colleges; but no human knew anything about them. She did not want to sound greedy. She just did not have the money to pay for it. She had a well-done, modern house, but it was all winnings from game shows. All the game shows gave her was kitchen appliances, and home makeovers. It did not matter that she was the smartest owl in the world. She had read all the books in the owl library. (Except for the one that was so boring, she fell asleep in the middle of it.) Nobody seemed to care about her future; Except for her.

She decided it would be good for her to go to bed now so she could spend a long day tomorrow applying for game shows. Not that she was worried; she had never been turned down for a game show. Angela glanced over at the clock it was midnight. Angela sighed; she had not gotten a good sleep in a long time. “Well,” Angela said, “better get some shuteye.”

When Angela woke up, the sun outside was streaming through her window. Angela blinked wearily. Then she looked at the clock. It was already 10:30. Angela quickly got dressed, (yes they made owl clothes) ate breakfast, and got ready to go. She decided to go to the game show: “Trivia”. She had watched that show and it seemed really easy. Plus it was one of the only game shows left that she had not played on before. She hoped that they would understand her. She got her purse and swiftly flew out the door.

Chapter 2
Jason

Angela got to the “Trivia” office around noon. Even though she had a late breakfast she was hungry. She regretted not packing a snack. When she got there, there were vending machines all round the lobby. She did not even have a coin. She sighed and sank down on a couch.

Shortly, a male owl flew up to her, “Hello, my name is Jason,” he said coolly.

“It’s nice to meet you too,” Angela replied sarcastically.
“I am sorry I seem rude to you.”
“It’s Ok I have had a tough past couple of days.”
“Well anyway how can I help you?” Jason asked happily.

“Well,” Angela hesitated, “I have been looking everywhere for a scholarship to owl colleges, but no one will give me that option.”
Jason just gaped with his eyes wide, “You!”
“You are the one. We have been waiting for years! What is your SAT score?”
Angela blushed, “2,400”
Jason just about fainted.
“I take that as an I just got into the game show.” Angela said.
Jason just looked at her. “You obviously do not watch “Trivia” very often.”
“No I don’t.”
“Well we give away scholarships to owl colleges”
Now it was Angela’s turn to stare. “You’re kidding right?”
“No, I am not.”
Angela just about started to jump for joy. The thoughts: I did it; I made my life-long dream ran through her head.

Chapter 3
College
(And other calamities)

Angela started college a few weeks later. She loved it. She got into the best college around and she didn’t have to pay a penny. Also she got some money from Trivia. So she could save for her later life. She had decided she liked Jason. They were seeing each other regularly. They studied together. (Jason was in most of the same classes as her) They were majoring in the same classes. The college professors kept telling her that she could be whatever she wanted to be in life. That was cool. Sometimes Jason took her out to dinner. They went to all the restaurants on campus and sometimes went to restaurants off campus as well.

She took classes in: calculus, biology, teaching, education and modern history. She was going to major in teaching and education and she was going to get a PHD in modern history, calculus and biology. She figured that since she was practically the smartest owl in the world, (Jason told her) She could major in a couple of things.

Chapter 4.
The Proposal

As I have already told you Jason and Angela had been seeing a lot of each other. One day Jason took Angela out to the “Wise Old Owl” diner near the college. After they had ordered their drinks, Jason asked, “Angela, do you love me?”

Angela was shocked. “Of course I do; I love you a lot.”

“Enough to marry me?”

“Of course.”

“Then Angela Johnson, will you marry me?

“I will”

Chapter 5
Preparations

Well since Jason had proposed to Angela, They had to prepare for the wedding. They decided that they were going to have it in the beautiful meadow near there burrows(For they were burrowing owls) For their honey moon they were going to go on a world tour with all the money they had won.(Because Jason had done the same thing Angela had done.) Angela was so excited because she had never been to any of Europe at all. They planned to have the wedding in April because the flowers would be in bloom.
